Because I honor the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy. Because I desire to help the newborn, the aged, those without hope. Because I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease. Because I wish to assist rather than intrude; to free rather than control. Because I seek to correct the cause, not its effect. Because I know doctors do not heal only the body can heal itself. Because I have been called to serve others. Because I want to make a difference. Because everyday I get to witness miracles.
Because I know it is right.
Piezowave, also known as shockwave therapy, is a myofascial acoustic compression technique invented by Richard Wolf, who developed a special device that uses precisely targeted sound waves to stimulate the musculoskeletal system underneath your skin. This Piezowave device sends thousands of sound wave pulses into a precisely targeted tissue or muscle, and works in tandem, resulting in stimulation that provides pain relief and leads to improved circulation in the targeted area triggering your body’s own natural healing processes.
Piezowave therapy is a non-invasive process with no side effects and many patients have found it to be an effective alternative to surgery. For maximum benefit, the sound waves are accurately adjusted for both depth and intensity and can help to heal tissues that lie too deep for conventional physical manipulation.
To learn if you’re an ideal candidate for Piezowave or shockwave therapy in New Jersey, feel free to contact our team to schedule a consultation! Our experienced Piezowave therapy specialist will help you determine if this method is best for you.
Piezowave/shockwave therapy is used to treat both acute and chronic pain in the muscles and joints. It’s commonly used to relieve painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis with heel spurs, tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, and arthritis.
It’s particularly useful in the treatment of pain caused by:
The patient relaxes on a doctor’s chair or treatment table in a similar position to the one used for massage of the affected area. The doctor uses gel to ensure the Piezowave device glides smoothly over the skin above the painful muscle or soft tissue while adjusting the depth and intensity of the sound waves.
In your first session, you may experience instant pain relief or some slight soreness as your own natural healing processes are triggered. As the series of sound wave pulses penetrate your skin, they can cause a dull ache, a signal that your body is responding, which should soon fade. A typical treatment session lasts 10-15 minutes. Once you are done with your session, you can get back to your normal activities immediately. This means there is no downtime, nor pain, swelling, or discomfort.
If you are experiencing acute or chronic pain in your muscles, tendons and/or joints, then shockwave therapy may be the perfect solution for you. Contact our team today to schedule a consultation with a shockwave therapy specialist today!
Chiropractor and sports medicine specialist Dr. Craig Rallo assesses his patients case by case and makes recommendations on the basis of the site of the pain and the underlying condition causing it. Each muscle group or soft tissue area requires a specific depth and intensity of Piezowave therapy, which may be used in combination with other treatments such as physical therapy.
Dr. Rallo usually recommends a series of between six to eight sessions, scheduled about 7 days apart, depending on the individual.
There are a wide range of conditions and injuries that shockwave therapy can treat, including but not limited to:
Yes, Piezowave therapy is safe. Piezowave therapy is a much safer alternative to surgery and injections. For this procedure, there is no anesthesia involved and you can immediately return to your daily activities after your session, with no downtime, no pain, and no discomfort.

Class IV Laser Therapy is now offered in our office. This specialized laser therapy is utilized to promote cellular healing and provide a natural form of pain relief. We opt for laser therapy as a natural healthcare solution, avoiding reliance on surgery, injections, or medication for treatment and relief. Learn more about the workings of Class IV laser therapy and what to expect during your visit for this treatment.
Our office employs safe, painless high-intensity laser therapy to initiate various healing functions at the cellular level. These functions include enhanced circulation, which strengthens immune response and promotes the healthy recovery of injured or damaged tissue. Laser therapy employs a scientific technique known as photo biomodulation to induce these changes at the cellular level.
Class IV laser therapy is non-invasive and does not cause burning or cutting of the skin, as its mechanism is photochemical rather than thermal, unlike surgical lasers. Most patients find the gentle warmth of the laser pleasant. Positive effects are often noticeable immediately after treatment. Nonetheless, we advise multiple visits for sustained pain relief and healing of injuries. To learn more about Class IV Laser Therapy please click this informative video link below.
Class IV laser therapy is indicated for a variety of conditions including chronic pain, arthritis, tendonitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, soft tissue injuries, nerve pain (neuropathy), wound healing, post-surgical pain, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, ankle pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions where inflammation and pain reduction are desired
We love our patients, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
